Bear and I raked leaves on Sunday. I was sore yesterday. From the thorns that scraped up my hands and the blisters from the rake to the tightness in my back from my horrid posture while raking. We raked for 2 hours and STILL had leaves when we were done. That’s what we get for leaving it until 4pm on Sunday.
Despite the fact the front was BETTER than the above picture of the “backyard”, we had a MASSIVE pile of leaves. I could have made 10 Bear-sized piles out of the leaves I had. Easily. It also doesn’t help that it was 48 degrees outside when we started and the temperature dropped while we were out there. I had a cold headache when we went inside. We fell asleep at 10:30 and slept until 5am. Oh yeah buddy. That’s how we rolled on Halloween. (Linda, song title is from Divine Intervention by Taking Back Sunday) Oh since I am talking about leaves anyways: while looking for pictures to help with imaginations, I found this picture: You know what’s amazing about that? Not the color. I’ve got a Japanese maple tree that has leaves that color. What’s amazing is that there are no other trees around (oak, sugar maples, etc) that are spoiling the red carpet of fallen leaves. (This is all assuming that none of that is photoshopped… which, it doesn’t have to be.) Someone did some landscape planning to keep that tree all alone in the fall. |
